Thursday Morning

Posted by on November 8, 2012

Happy Thursday! I know I haven’t been Super Blogger recently, but lemme tell you, I’ve got some juicy and  fascinating intercultural-marriage flavoured posts coming. Soon. For now, let me introduce you to 7 excellent links….

This is a really good story.

Here are some important and sobering pictures of modern day slavery.

My friend Sarah wrote a thought-provoking Halloween post about chocolate and child labour. In fact, sweet Sarah just wrote a post in support of our adoption!

Somebody posted this Hearty Chicken Stew with Butternut Squash and Quinoa recipe. Now I forgot who. Whoever you are, I love you. Thank you for my new favourite recipe.

In celebration of the first week it’s below freezing, I’m going to make these giant ginger cookies. YUM! Probably a good week to drop in for tea (*wink*).

In case you’re super curious and concerned about when Kate Middleton will be pregnant…

If the elections made you doubt your faith in humanity, this father’s love and commitment to his infant is incredible. Another sobering reminder of sad realities millions face globally.

I don’t know about you, but the first few days of Daylight savings blow my mind. Today, the sun rose at 7:02, and it will set at 5:01. That’s 10 hours of daylight. Or, 14 hours of darkness. Hello, Winter.

I’m glad you enjoyed my chicken, butternut squash & quinoa stew (yep, that was me). It’s one of our favourites, too!

There is just so much I want to do! Help put an end to modern slavery, for instance. Any idea where I can start, Amelia?

Oh, also, I have a suggestion, Amelia. Is it possible to change the settings to make the links open in a new tab instead of opening in the current one? That would be more convenient!

My family for the first time did not offer chocolate on Halloween. It was really hard not to have extra Reese’s peanut butter cups or Hershey bars after the holiday, but we were all glad not to be supporting any slavery!

Thoughts? I love hearing from you!
