On Brain Vacation

Posted by on August 30, 2013

Two of my three sports related injuries involved sports equipment falling on my head while I was not engaged in sports. This is how athletic I am.

Unfortunately, on Sunday evening at a picnic I acquired one such injury: an over-inflated soccer ball to the head. I was not playing soccer. Heck, I wasn’t even watching (maybe this is part of the problem…)

The diagnosis? A minor concussion. The Doctor has ordered full brain rest–no TV, no reading, no studying, no computer (AHEM) until my symptoms abate.

Which leaves…basically nothing for me to do. Did I mention Varun got sick this week too? Thankfully, Varun and I have some of the most generous and loving friends ever: they’ve delivered meals and goodies, called, washed our dishes, gone with us to the ER, monitored me post-concussion, given massages, cleaned our floors, texted, prayed, and held an impromptu prayer meeting in our living room (and probably many other things I don’t remember. Hey, I do have a head injury….)

I better peace out before I get in trouble for brain stimulation. Watch this video: it had me giggling through my grogginess in the ER.

Hahaha (sorry, it’s not funny) but I was just telling my Bible Study about how you get the best injuries ever (don’t worry, there were only about 4 people at the time). I think you should devote a blog entry to your injuries – closing your arm in the door, puncturing your eardrum, getting hit in the head with a pullup bar, etc. 🙂 You’re the best!!
